WEBSITE MARKETING STRATEGY

Importantly a major part of the websites marketing strategy will happen through the inclusion of keywords to enable the site to appear higher in google searches.

SEO & ANALYTICS STRATEGY

My SEO and analytics strategy for this sit has ben to set up and integrated Google, I have done this using Yoast SEO. I have been strategic in thinking about what keywords are used and checked the SEO analysis for each page to see where I can improve. Other strageties applied; cross link social media and client websites and the structure of site. Importantly, this is work in progress that will continue over the life of the site and hopefully improve!

SECURITY AND PERORMANCE

I secured the siteĀ  via plugins including Really Simple SSL and Wrodfence Security. This is also something I need to maintain via deleating any comments added to my blogs page.

HOSTED vs SELF-HOSTED

A hosted website is one that is built on a website builder. These are Software as a Service (SAAS) platforms offering an all-in-one website solution. They provide the hosting (the servers that house all your website files) and the software to build your website. But you are limited to using their tools and templates, and you have limited access to the code for customization.

A self-hosted website is open source software, which means you can download it and then modify it as you like. The software is free, but you have to open an account with a website host in order to have your files housed on their servers and purchase a domain (the address or URL for your website) from a domain registrar.

Both have their merits, using a hosted website enables a speedy build and aspects of the website to be easily updated by a client. But, the user is using a templated system that is only able to be modified to a degree. A self-hosted site enables the user to build from scratch if desired and has a lot more flexibilty than a hosted.
